For students in school years 9-13
Wednesdays 6-8pm at the Sea Cadets Hall, Stanwell Crescent, Penarth.
This is a fun and exciting class that covers jazz/modern, tap, lyrical and contemporary. More advance in content than the Junior class; we look to improve technique, flexibility and strength. This class has something for everyone with a good mixture of chart music and songs from musicals.
Many students progress to full time training. You can read more about them here.
Students have previously danced at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End, The Royal Albert Hall, The Millennium Stadium, St David’s Hall, Wales Millennium Centre and Cardiff’s New Theatre. Students have previously been invited to work with National Dance Company Wales and the Wales Millennium Centre.
Acro
Senior/Senior Advanced Acro – Tuesday 5.30-6.30pm at Sy Cyres School *Limited Spaces*
Acro is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. Acro is not to be confused with gymnastics; both artistic and rhythmic which are sports that employ dance elements in a gymnastics context under the rules of a governing gymnastics organisation.
