Paul Rothwell – Musical Theatre
Paul began his musical training as a chorister in the choir of St Mary’s Collegiate Church (Warwick) and went on to read music at Cardiff University where he sang under the direction of Miriam Bowen and John Hugh Thomas and graduated in 2010.
Paul previously sang 1st Tenor in Only Men Aloud – Britain’s favourite choir who won the BBCs ‘Last Choir Standing’ in 2008. They have since performed numerous sell out tours, released three albums and won a Classical Brit Award.
Paul has also been a member of the Welsh National Youth Opera, appearing in Brian Irvine’s The Calling of Maisy Day and also sings with the Cardiff Metropolitan Cathedral Choir. Paul has sung in a number of broadcasts, CD recordings and tours across the UK, Europe and America, with recent engagements including the Only Men Aloud Christmas tour, Campra Requiem and Evangelist in Bach St. John Passion.
Paul is also a very active teacher in the Cardiff area. Alongside private pupils he is also a ‘team captain’ for Only Boys Aloud who came third in ITVs ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
