Nia Hopkins

Dance Teacher

Nia is a former PAAW student who is currently training to become a Secondary English teacher. She joined PAAW during its first year, and from there, her love for dance and performance grew. She trained in all styles growing up: jazz, tap, acro, musical theatre, and ballet, and spent many years as part of the senior comp team. She has performed with PAAW in world renowned venues, such as The Royal Albert Hall, Sadlers Wells, and competed at the Dance World Cup (2017). At 17, Nia assisted Vicky in all three of her sold out MOVE IT classes. Nia has also completed many ISTD exams, achieving merits and distinctions in modern, tap, and ballet respectively.

Though Nia spent much of her journey with PAAW on the stage in tutus and red lipstick, she has developed a keen passion for choreography. During her time as an undergraduate at the University of Bristol, she was asked to choreograph for the university’s successful dance team. She continued to dance, perform, and teach alongside her studies. Most recently, her lyrical routine, ‘Canada’, placed first at both Sheffield and Nottingham University Dance Championships. She has also been a teacher at the PAAW summer training school for the past two years. Nia is very excited to rejoin the PAAW family and pass her love for dance and performing onto the next generation!
